Art Collections

Artist Statement

I am fascinated by the intricacies and interconnectedness of the natural world and the beauty that lies within. I love to share this through my artwork and fine art photography. A large part of my work examines and praises how each and everything in this world is delicate and an important component of a greater whole.

My most notable series that explore these concepts are the Planet series, where I create imaginative and whimsical planet compositions with excerpts from original photographs. The MN Artifacts series utilizes original photographs of found objects, such as skulls, feathers, and shells, which are overlaid with original photographs of MN landscapes, reimagining and honoring the spirit of the found object’s existence, life, journey and ecosystem it was once a part of.

In the past couple of years, I have been working on Flower Zen Collections. This work recalibrates how I look at nature, intentionally focusing on the natural drama of Minnesota’s flora, creating a spatially visual experience that evokes an emotional response.

Recently, I have felt a deep calling back to photo documentary work, and this past winter, I started working on a photo documentary exploring rural spaces. Through this process, I found myself focusing on manmade structures/buildings, houses, social landscapes, and the visual stories of rural culture, history and livelihoods. This project will  launch in spring 2024.
